Reality Bites
This week I have been somewhat bit on the bum by reality! This has been both a very bad and very good experience.
Firstly, just as I was settling into a place of booty shaking comfort for my community classes, I was hit with the news that my regular Zumba venue for Monday and Wednesday morning classes had been closed by Leeds City Council. It had been deemed unfit (no pun intended) for classes and as a working environment. The old school is mainly a music resource and now not viable for any other purposes. This is the unpredictable reality of running your own community classes.
My heart sank. I had invested time and effort into building up that class and the location was perfect for both myself and my Leeds Zumbettes. I am currently back searching for a suitable venue, which as some of my fellow community instructors will know can be a painstakingly difficult task. There are so many things to take into consideration; location, venue suitablity, capacity, hire cost, availabilty… the list goes on. The silver lining was I have been extremly touched by how helpful my ladies have been in offering suggestions in my quest. As they say; these things are sent to try us! I’ll let you know how I get on, I’d also like to hear about your experiences with looking for venues and what considerations are priority in your decision making? #chat
On a more light footed note… I am loving Strictly! Its my winter TV indulgence. What do you think of this years dancers? Who’s your money on to win? Events As promised here are the finalised details of my Zumba Christmas Party… For all those who want to come and dance yourselves silly and celebrate the festive season with myself and guest instructors Nicola and Charlotte it’s guaranteed to be funtastic and will only cost you £10. So, the details are; Saturday 15th December 9.30am-12pm at the Milford Rugby club, off Kirkstall Road, Leeds. If you are coming from afar and need directions dont hesitate to contact me at joparry5@btinternet.com or tweet me using the hashtag #zumbachat

Its All about the Music
This week I want to do a focus on the latest releases from Solid Sound music as they are absolutley fantastic, not my main areas of teaching but banging tracks all the same.
Body Shape 39, BPM 118-128
We all know conditioning is hard at the best of times and that is why we at Solid Sound take time and thought in compiling our CDs to help our instructors. Body Shape 39 is no exception, it features massive hits from Fun, Pink, Robbie Williams, Adele, One Direction, Rihanna, Maroon 5, Swedish House Mafia and many more not forgetting Gangnam Style. Tune after tune after tune! Have fun with this cd, play it loud and work hard!
Indoor Cycling 40, BPM Varied
A fantastic eclectic mix of music specifically designed to invigorate, inspire and focus your cycling class on their journey. With fast tracks for sprints, slower tracks for hill climbs and banging tracks for general high intensity madness. Indoor Cycling 40 features tracks from Afrojack, Muse, The Rolling Stones, Bruno Mars, Rudimental,Michael Jackson plus many more heavy hits, typically designed for strong, hard rides.

Mission Clean & Lean Detox
Mission Clean & Lean are entering their first week, they are doing so well albeit getting over their cold turkey feeling. This is mainly due to the caffeine and sugar withdrawals and can result in headaches initially but once over this barrier the feel good factor really kicks in and a whole new world of energy levels is revealed.
I am so proud of how focused they all are. This group has been our biggest intake of people to date and we are so excited to be helping and supporting people achieve their goals, increase their energy levels, lose weight, gain confidence and look great!
We have had outstanding results from previous groups, this is just one example; Cliff is now on our progress plan : This is a mini report from what happened when he joined our programme; Mission Clean & Lean is life changing for many, but we’ve had some startling news from one member with Type 1 Diabetes. After completing our 21 Day Detox and a week into our Progress Plan, he has a ‘normal’ blood sugar average score for the first time in 17 YEARS! His average blood sugars for the last month were tested and following MC&L he’s had his LOWEST SCORE EVER! High scores inevitably lead to blindness, kidney problems and threats to life. So quite literally and undisputed, our methods are life changing!! 12 days of Christmas Detox If you feel 21 days is too long then starting from November 26th we have a 12 day Christmas special for £20.00 with great work-outs, healthy festive recipes, the best options for mince pies and mulled wine!!!!!
Email me for more details at: jo.parry5@btinternet.com My next reality check is much more exciting… wait for it. Shopping for ‘the’ dress. Yes, for those who dont already know I. am. getting. married! The wedding is next year and the reality of it sunk in this week when my parents came up to visit and my mum and I went searching for my aisle attire :) I am on cloud 9. I loved the whole experience but had no idea there were so many styles of dresses… I was in a whirlwind, so many different cuts, linings, materials, colours!!! The first boutique we visited we loved two very different dresses. Decisions. Decisons. I have a few more outings arranged with mum and the girls so I have plenty of time to find the perfect dress. I will definetly enjoy making this process last a little longer, I loved trying on all the dresses. I felt like a princess.
Not for long though as I was soon back in trackies and trainers getting sweaty in class. Reality strikes again! I do love my job so it’s not a bad reality but I’m certainly looking forward to being a princess for the day.
