Hello…..
Hello…
Why hello there stranger I hear you cry!
Firstly apologies for not reaching out to you guys in a while, I’ve been having so much fun I completely lost track of time! How are you all? Hope all is good in business and in pleasure.
I have had the best couple of weeks ever, such good times and I’m feeling very blessed that I have even more to come!
I attended a best friends wedding and it was out-of-this-world. I loved every minute. Emma looked beautiful.
As I let my mind wander down memory lane I recalled some of the fun and crazy times we had at uni and now she is the first of us to marry, I can’t tell you how many Kleenex we went through. I love weddings, not only to celebrate the nuptials but also a great opportunity for all the girls and their partners to get together… Perfect. Lots of lovely people all together on a lovely day!
We must be getting old as there wasn’t a hangover in sight, I only had a few as we danced into the moonlight!
So, here’s to Mrs Seymour! Wishing you a magical marriage.
Classes
Well. I am loving my surge in class numbers and as much as I’d love to account it to the latest mind-blowing e-marketing strategy I’ll be honest I have no idea where it’s come from!!! I have not changed my tactics, done nothing different on social media yet my numbers are up massively.
Good old fashioned word of mouth eh? And possibly a glimpse of the sun!
There is always that slight panic when people start to think about summer clothes (or lack thereof) and lots of skin on show. Not that I am complaining, whatever the reason I love it that more and more people want to come and dance with me.
I’m still loving teaching my Freestyle and my Zumba, I do have the best of both worlds and I feel very blessed for that.
It helps that the music out there at the moment in the charts and on the airwaves is so good! This doesn’t always happen. So I am definitely making the most of it.
Music inspires me for choreography ideas, themes, intensity, everything really, it guides the whole class.
I also like the newest ZIN release as well. I find that whilst I take some inspiration from the DVD I am a Freestyler at heart so I gain more enjoyment from composing my own routines. Not always possible when I am not so good for time.
Events
Ahhhh, where do I start? We are right in the heights of events season and I’m loving it. I had the pleasure of presenting again at Fitness Fiesta in Hemsby, Great Yarmouth which was awesome! The beach looked so picturesque it was idyllic, the sun was out in all it’s glory it felt more like the Mediterranean. The classes outdoors were rammed and I had my first sighting of the year of an ice cream van!
My classes had an incredible energy. Peoples concentration level and energy after doing so many classes always astounds me. Fiesta has a real je ne sais quoi that no other event has, it has a unique family feel to it.
The level of Freestyle Step this time around at Hemsby was particularly high. This is great as Freestyle Step is not as popular as it was once but my Saturday class ROCKED! I was delighted with the skill level, everyone’s enthusiasm and knowledge made me realise that Step is not dead!
Besides catching up with everyone my Matt decided to turn up Saturday evening at the event and surprise me, which was just wonderful. I couldn’t decide whether to cry, scream with happiness or get my eyes checked…was I seeing things? Ha ha it was a lovely surprise. Stuart Harrop, Robert Cummings and Sebastian Paitek and myself were speechless.
Next step Cologne
I had a lovely bank holiday weekend getting sunburnt in between presenting classes in Cologne. Typical Brit eh? Bright red despite Factor 15!
SAAS event is held every May and November, such a warm, friendly and fun event. I am fortunate enough to catch up with the UK crew plus my foreign friends and let me say that FREESTYLE step is definitely alive in Germany. Sometimes I watch a class and wonder how they even thought up the choreography on the step!!! Pure brilliance. I presented Step team teach with Sava and House Dance. Awesome weekend.
Asymmetrical Step and Dance Aerobics is rife in Europe and my fellow presenters taught it effortlessly. More Brits should come over, you would love it. 4 hours of step and 4 hours of dance, then back shower and out to the Mexican restaurant! I love my life. Needless to say Matt did not turn up to Cologne to meet me ha ha ha but me and the girls did (Charlotte, Becky Boo and Emma) bump into the lovely and talented Faisel (presenter) in Cologne airport. Small world!
Mission Clean & Lean
I just wanted to share a wonderful achievement of one of our many achievements on Mission Clean & Lean. Thank you if you are reading this newsletter and you are one of our MCL super stars. Our fantastic Mission Clean & Lean member Caroline Willis has just completed her first marathon, YAHOOOOO and she has been good enough to share her MCL journey with us.
‘It’s been just over a year since I started the 21 day detox and here are my before and after pictures. Before I started, I couldn’t do a single full press up, I couldn’t plank for longer than 30 seconds, the list of things I couldn’t …do was long. Now one year on I can press up with the best of them, I can do a two and a half minute plank, I don’t hate burpees anymore (can’t believe I have just said that!) and this morning I completed my first marathon. A walking marathon but a marathon all the same and I did it in my bra. A year ago I would never have dreamed of letting anyone see my bare belly! Whilst I don’t stick stringently to the plan food wise, my eating habits have changed so much that I have no problem maintaining my weight, although I do try to work out every day if I can. To those of you in the middle of the plan, stick with it, it really works. If you don’t cheat, you will see real results, you get out what you put in. I lost just over a stone in the three weeks and went on to lose a further stone and a half. Thank you Jo & Fern’ x
Spring Clean 7 Day Detox
Well Fern and I are thrilled with the uptake of Spring Cleaners this last month. Our Spring Clean 7 day detox has proved to be a real hit with previous MCL members and new members that can take a week out of their lives to give the detox 100%. The whole idea behind the detox is to teach people to gradually add it in to your lifestyles forever. So you know when to eat clean and when you can cheat and how to get back on track after special occasions. We have a large group now with hundreds of members that regularly chat, rant, laugh and share recipes! We love it.
Plus our wonderful bloggers are doing a fantastic job with their health, weight loss and new fit physiques.
We are excited to be launching a new Beach detox soon. Check www.missioncleanlean.com for all additional your information.
Well, its been lovely to catch up with you. My life seems to be out of a bag at the moment, not that I’m complaining. I am off to Denmark this weekend; Latin lady which I haven’t done for a while and LOVE plus hip hop step and House Dance wooop. Although it may be Monday by the time I send this out, so with that in mind … I hope you had a good weekend and the weather stayed bright for you, stay happy and good.
Lots of love, Jo x
